Random Thoughts:  I never saw the ETBU victory over UMHB happening so it makes the SU/ETBU game a little more interesting. SU beat ETBU at home and should take care of business on neutral ground but what ETBU team will show up here? Big test for CMS as they take on two top teams out-of-region. Victories here will really prop up the West Region. Other important out-of-region games for the region are Trinity/Whitewater, CC/Hope and CC/Elmhurst.

Some great SCIAC matches with Cal Lu/La Verne and Whittier/Chapman. I liked Chapman as a dark horse this year but it turns out that Whittier wants that role.

My game of the day and one that carries HUGE implications for the West Region when it comes to selection is Whitworth/Pac Lu. Right now Pac Lu are the class of the Northwest Conference. If the Northwest are to get more than one team in the tournament it means that Pac Lu can’t win their title and the most likely team to get in their way is Whitworth. Two teams from the Northwest likely means one less team from one of the other conferences. It’s “only” the first conference match for either team but if Whitworth upsets Pac Lu it puts Whitworth in the driver’s seat for their conference title and automatic NCAA bid.
